Welcome

A very warm welcome to my blog, which is mostly about card-making, a bit about work and family, and a few odds and ends. I am fairly new to this blogging lark, so please bear with me if I make some glaring errors.

I'll be delighted if you would like to become a follower, so please leave me details of your blog, as I'd love to visit.

xx Jill

daughter's birthday

It's our daughter Louise's birthday tomorrow, so I inked up this dear little Magnolia Tilda with flower basket, and coloured her with copic markers.  The dps are Papemania; a mix of Rose Garden and Blueberry Hill, which are some of my favourites, and the cardstock is Bazzill Bling.  Flowers are from WOC as usual, and there are punched elements with a MS edge punch (from Wendy at Stamps and Memories) and a little flower strip using an EK daisy border (Oyster stamps).  The heart charm is from Jill at the Hobby House, as are the little rhinestones.  Usual glitter glue is Stardust Stickles

Sentiment inside is computer generated, again with Rose Garden papers.

Pearl Wedding Anniversary

This was a comissioned bookatrix card for friends whose daughter and her husband are celebrating their Pearl Wedding Anniversary.  She chose a design very similar to a wedding card I made recently, but wanted pearls, pink and ivory.  The design paper is Hunkydory cream swirls, with pink pearlised, and gold linen cardstock.  The peeloffs and the sentiment are from the Glittergirls, and the flowers and heart gem from Hobbycraft.  The gold flower finding and the tiny pink pearls are from Jill at The Hobby House. The irridescent ribbon on the bookmark is from my stash.

I made a box to fit the card, and decorated it to match, using a patp double loop punch from Martha Stewart, and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, with some lovely gold findings and tiny pearls from Jill at The Hobby House.

The inserts were computer generated

5th Anniversary card

5th Wedding Anniversary card for our daughter
Louise, and her husband Bruce using Sarah Kay stamp "a Kiss for Chloe", which is coloured with copic markers.  The dps are from BGs new Kyoshi pad, which is really pretty, and plain cardstock is Coredinations.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, and the punched leaves, border and heart use MS punches.  Ribbon, stardust Stickles and little pearl hearts are from Hobbycraft.  The sentiment and insert are computer generated, with the background coloured with copics.

A wedding card for a work colleague of my son-in-law, who is getting married next week.  The WOJ bride was stamped and then masked, followed by the stamped swing.  I used Bazzill Bling plain cardstock, and Papermania dps from the Confetti range, with a little self-adhesive heart border.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts simmered with a little pearl Glimmer Mist, with punched leaves.  The bling and tulle are from Jill at The Hobby House.  Very unusually for me, I've added some peeloffs to make a gold border.

I also made a card insert, and a little decorated box to match the card.

the final few!

This easel card was for my daughter Louise and her husband Bruce, and uses Milly with Tulips from Pink Gem Designs, coloured with copic markers.  The dp is from the floral set of Wild Rose Studios, and the cardstock is Bazzill dotty.  Flowers are a mixture of Prima and Hobbycraft.

This card was for a very old friend, and is from Joanna Sheen's Messy Rabbit collection, coloured with copic markers.  I've used Nesties and an MS patp Pansy set to punch the edges.  The little grey pearls were very kindly given to me by Jill at The Hobby House, and the flowers are a mix of some from Hobbycraft, and Wild Orchid crafts.  Dp is Papermania from the Rose Garden Set.

This was a very simple card to make for some dear friends living in Scotland.  The beautiful little fairy is from Lily of the Valley, and is coloured with copic markers.  I've used Nesties and also the MS patp eyelet set to punch the edges of the Bazill bling blue cardstock, and the dp is Papermania from the Rose Garden Set again.  The flowers are again mix of some from Hobbycraft, and Wild Orchid crafts.  The little sentiment is from Pink Gem Designs.

This adorable Magnolia image is coloured with copic markers, with the little sentiment from Pink Gem Designs.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts who are doing lovely colour sets at the moment, and the dps are Papermania.  The tulle and charm are from Jill at The Hobby House.  That's all the Easter cards, so now on to the next round of birthdays: there's no rest for the wicked!

The last few Easter cards

This was a Forever Friends card for my son Alastair and his partner Tracy, using one of the FF die-cut images.  A simple card and layout, with paper from an old Papermania pad, two colours of spotty ribbon, and some Prima flowers with Wild Orchid Crafts baby roses.  Cardstock is Bazill spotty, and Stardust Stickles gives a bit of bling as usual.

Another image from the FF die-cuts, and this one was for my eldest grandson Connor, who is now 10.  Plain blue cardstock is Bazill Bling, but the sepia card is coloured with copic markers, as I couldn't get a good match for the duck border.  EK border punch, and the little sentiment is from Pink Gem Designs.

This was for my youngest grandson Tristan, who will be three in a couple of days time.  A very cute FF die-cut image again, with punched leaves that had to be coloured with copic markers, as the colour wasn't quite right.  The flowers are from Hobbycraft.  Bling is provided as usual with Stardust Stickles: I should have bought shares in this stuff - I must keep the factory going singlehandedly!

Easter cards

I entered this Easter card that I made for friends for the second month of "A Gem of a Challenge", and was really pleased to make the top five.

The stamps (coloured with copic markers) are both from Pink Gem designs, and they are really easy to get a clear image.  The papers are from the floral set of Wild Rose Studio, and the cardstock is my favourite coredinations, which I usually get from A Maze of Memories, although I stocked up today at the show at Ally Pally.  The Nestabilities, copic markers, leaf punch and MS patp punches are from Wendy at Stamps and Memories, and the little pearls were very kindly given to me by Jill at The Hobby House.  For the daffodils, I bought two sorts from Hobbycraft, pulled them apart, and then reconstructed them: makes it a bit expensive, but I thought they were quite pretty.

A Honey and Hugs image for my eldest grand-daughter, Beth, with paper lace coloured with copics, and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The little daisy strip is actually an EK border punch, with little pearls glued with stardust Stickles in the centre of each one. Dp is from an old Papermania pad, and the leaf is an MS punch.

Another  Honey and Hugs Easter card using Prima flowers for decoration.  This one is for middle grand-daughter, Charlotte.  The sentiment is computer generated, dp is DCWV, and is used with coredinations cardstock.

This was an Easter card for my step-grand-daughter Natalie, and her little boy, Maxwell, who is two and has the cutest smile!!
I used an old Papermania pad for the dp, and the sentiment is from Pink Gem designs.  Hobbycraft daffodils have been put together with orange brads, and the lace made with coredinations and an MS border punch.  Little daisies are again made with an EK border punch, and the little pearls are from Jill at The Hobby House.

The last of the Honey and Hugs set of cards for my grandchildren.  This one was for 5 month old Natasha, who is just adorable, and very sunny natured.  The paper lace is coredinations cardstock cut with an MS border punch, with flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, and the little owl charm from Jill at The Hobby House.  Sentiment is computer generated.
