Welcome

A very warm welcome to my blog, which is mostly about card-making, a bit about work and family, and a few odds and ends. I am fairly new to this blogging lark, so please bear with me if I make some glaring errors.

I'll be delighted if you would like to become a follower, so please leave me details of your blog, as I'd love to visit.

Thank you card

 Hi everyone

As you can see it's been quite a while without any posts, partly due to the fact that there's very little cardmaking done in January and February due to the Royal Berkshire Festival of Dance.  As the Chairman of the organisation there's a lot to do towards the event, not to mention the teaching and costume making that also goes on frantically.  I always work every weekend, as well as several days during the week, and oh boy! is it harder than it used to be!!

Both dance schools were very successful in the competition and lots of dance numbers will be be going to the Regional Finals of the All England Dance Competition in May and June.  Nice to be successful, but it means lots of work needing to be done.

This card is a thank you for our fantastic adjudicator Janice Fullman, who managed to speak to every child, giving encouraging comments and creating a lovely atmosphere throughout.  She's also very easy to work with, from an organising point of view, which makes her popular with the staff too!

I chose the Tilda ballerina, which I've coloured with copic markers.  I love this charming little dancer, even though she's forgotten about her "secret bows", and for some reason her hair's not neatly tucked away in a bun!!  The dps and insert were created from Nitwit papers new Tippytoes range, which are lovely ice-cream pastels.  The flowers are a mix of WOC and Prima Belle petals, and the leaves are punched from Bazzill Bling cardstock.  I'd intended to add a little ballet shoe charm, but Dipsy here forgot all about it  until after the picture was taken, so you'll just have to imagine that bit!  The insert really does match the front in colour, but didn't come out so well in the photo.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog and for any comments you'd like to leave.  I promise to be back soon!

xx Jill
